Promoting Science, Reason and Humanist Values in the greater Pittsburgh area.
Marie Schaub is an atheist who was born and raised in Southwestern PA. Marie earned her BA in Applied Psychology from Penn State University and has raised a blended family of 4 children with her husband in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Schaub is a firm believer of secularism and was the only named plaintiff, along with the Freedom From Religion Foundation, in a federal lawsuit to remove the 10 Commandments from public school property. The monument was eventually relocated to private property after a 5 year legal battle and harsh backlash from some in the community. Since then Marie has received the 'Atheists in Fox Holes Award' and 'Freethinker of the Year Award'. Currently she is PFC's Public Policy Participation Committee Chair and an outspoken speaker in the secular movement.
